Oslo Hackney

Oslo is housed in a redeveloped railway station building next to Hackney Central Station and is now a large music venue, restaurant and bar.

Oslo has a large and lovely Nordic themed bar and restaurant, with huge windows and a buzzing atmosphere. Oslo is open from noon until late on weekdays and from 11am on weekends for brunch.

We visited Oslo and tried some of the cocktails on offer and a main dish on a weeknight. When we first arrived it was busy with people heading to a gig nearby.

Oslo has a homely feel and look with wooden tables and fresh flowers dotted round in clear vase and exposed brick work.

There’s nothing better than a good margarita so my first drink option was a peach margarita, which was gorgeous and sweeter than the original.

I ordered the smoked salmon salad and my friend opted for the steak and chips. Both of our meals were fresh and delicious.

I’m a big gin lover and my second cocktail was sloe gin based and served in a vintage glass, what’s not to love!

Oslo’s evening menu includes salads, burgers , risotto, fish+chips, steak, fish catch of the day and small dishes that are perfect for sharing. Vegetarians are catered for.

The weekend brunch menu sounds amazing and includes waffles, nordic cure, veg cure, avocado and egg dishes. Brunch is served at weekends from 11am until 5pm.

Sunday roast is served every Sunday from 11am-9pm with roast beef, roast chicken and a nut roast on offer.

If you attending a gig at Oslo its worth knowing that you can get 20% off their food when they present their ticket.

Oslo is a great bar and restaurant to meet up with friends in Hackney. The food and cocktails were delicious
